Unsigned Crewe is a youth music festival and the brainchild of local band Bored Adventures and Crewe business, Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse.
Bored Adventures are 5 guys from the area who met at and formed the band at High School. Due to their young age (now 17-18) they struggled to find venues to perform the songs they love and created.
Early last year they approached several local venues to see if they would help host an event where similar young bands could perform, with all proceeds of the event going to youth charities in the area. Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse stepped up to support the project, and with sponsorship from other local businesses Unsigned was created. The event was a great success, selling out and raising over £500 for Body Positive and Restore the Music.
Wanting to repeat the event, Bored Adventures approached Tom’s Tap again. Sean Ayling, Director & Brewer at Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse replied “Tom’s Tap has always been committed to backing original music. When we were approached to host Crewe Unsigned last year we jumped at the chance because as a community taproom, it’s very important we give the musicians of tomorrow the opportunity to express themselves. We are happy to support again and are hopeful the event will become an annual one to give the musicians of Crewe and the surrounding area an ongoing platform”. With this and the help and sponsorship again from local businesses, preparation for Crewe Unsigned 2024 is underway.
The family friendly event will again spotlight young bands from the area including Blitz, Sativa, The Voke, Everything under the sun, Sugar Donuts, Dylan Bugg and Bored Adventures, while raising money for local youth charities. Ben, from Bored Adventures commented, “It was great to see all the bands last year and we are looking forward to the event again this year, performing songs from our EP and highlighting more upcoming musicians from the area. We are grateful to Tom’s Tap and all the other local businesses for their help and support in putting the events on”This year’s event is taking place on Saturday 8th June 2024 at Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse, Thomas Street, Crewe from 2pm until late. Tickets prices are £8 for over 18’s, £3 for under 18’s, a family ticket for 2 over 18’s & 2 under 18’s is also available at £20. All tickets are available here
